Vote No to Kim Builta for State Representative

Originally Published May 25, 2010

While it seems so early to be thinking of whom to vote for in November, I can’t help but share my feelings on Kim Builta, who is perhaps the worst candidate in the past couple decades since I have been alive… in my opinion.

From the Anderson Herald Bulletin April 8th, 2010
Another member of the audience asked Builta if she would support a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in Indiana.

“I believe marriage is between a man and a woman; I don’t believe and won’t support gay rights,” Builta responded.

After reading this disturbing article, I couldn’t help but email Kim Builta to ask if the Anderson Herald Bulletin had accurately portrayed her statement.  Sadly, she is as inhumane as the quote reported.  Gay people are not seeking special rights but EQUAL RIGHTS.  Gay people cannot be left “seperate but equal” because that leaves them unequal, disenfranchised, and always treated differently with negativity and inhumane treatment.  Her beliefs perpetuate a cycle of passive hate.  Whether it is out of fear or ignorance or hate – it does not matter.  The conduct that comes from such primitive thinking is regressive in nature and entices the simple-minded to outwardly express their lack of education and humanistic values. Kim Builta is feeding off of those who do not have true American values but distorted religious values.  A State Representative should have an understanding of human dignity and a profound understanding of human nature.  Kim Builta does not have that at her core.

For our Families
Parenting is the most important job any of us can have. I am the proud mother of three and grandmother of two. Raising a family is not easy work, but it has been my most fulfilling role in life. Having a State Representative who will fight for our values and way of life is very important to me.

For our Jobs

Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. As a small business owner, I have run a business and created jobs in both good times and bad. As your State Representative, I will work to reduce the burdens placed on small businesses by state government and eliminate the barriers holding back job creation and economic development.

For our Community

As a parent and employer, I understand the challenges facing our community. My life has been a testament of what hard work and determination are capable of achieving. I am ready to meet the task at hand to help foster and promote opportunity for everyone.

The above is directly from Kim Builta’s website for election for State Representative.  She listed families first with “a State Representative who will fight for our values and way of life is very important to me” but I want to know – What are those values and which way of life?  From every encounter I have had with Kim Builta, it is my understanding that she has the values of a desperate and ignorant person with no objectivity to the law or understanding of the rights of others and the concept of personal liberty for the individual.  Kim Builta commented once about limited government but how limited can it be if she believes it is ok to use government to control society without the liberty for the individual and the individual’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?  Without a fundamental understanding of the laws of the nation, the state, and her local district and the history which founded those laws, how can she ever expect to improve the economic climate without understanding the intricacies of humanity that cause the environments in which the constituents live.  As a Libertarian, you would think I would be more in favor of her style of “conservative” government, however,  she shows no value to the individual.  Her loyalty is with corporate interest and not with individual interest.  Government should be in favor of the individual and then those such individuals can place interest in corporations if they so choose.  Give the rights back to the individual.  We shouldn’t be overrun with corporate rule as we shouldn’t be overrun with government rule.

“I will work to reduce the burdens placed on small businesses by state government and eliminate the barriers holding back job creation and economic development.”  What are these burdens and what does she know of them?  She is co-owner of Rowland Title, and she did not create the business from the ground up.  What has she done to see the creation of small business? Nothing.  What has she done within her own company to bring employment to the masses? Nothing.  Giving an assistant a job is not job creation, it is simply a delegation of some of her work.  She doesn’t have real world experience in the realm of politics to entice larger corporations to bring their businesses to her district nor does she have the real world experience in opening businesses from the ground up to spark the creation of the individual business.

I encourage everyone to vote NO to Kim Builta and vote for anyone else with some decency.  It has escaped her.
